Am so scared, we are losing our Girls

Good people, this news is scaring, it gave me a bad day! am so afraid of a Malawian girl. I thought there is bright future for her, yes there is future but I think we see it the other side only, while the other side is so dangerous to our nation. But I have hope that we can turn things around if we collectively stand up, voice out and act.

Apparently this report is coming out soon after our good law makers passed the marriage age bill. This report may be is revealing how important this bill would be if it was passed some years ago. May be it would protect some of these good girls because they would realize they are underage and not pretty good for them to indulge in such immoral acts. However it's clear that some of these girls are victims of other human issues therefore its very unfortunate and not something to laugh at. But to the other side this report is a result of lack of sex education in Malawi

Everyone has been young before and some successful women have passed through the same situations while to others such things have happened to their relatives, sisters or cousins, somehow to close friends.

We are losing our girls, we are losing our young people, we are losing our good leaders. But it's not the end, we can help these girls, let's give them hope. Our actions will protect those who could be the next victims. There is a better way of helping them while not justifying the practice. I think it is high time that we need more psychologists who can help young people to understand the changes that take place as they grow up, people who can help not condemning them! I think it's time we emphasize on the availability of youth health friendly services in heath centers.

Behind most teenage pregnancies there are mature and responsible male who take advantage of insecurity of these poor little angels..... Once defiled they lose their dignity and become rubbish to everyone who wants it!.. It's time we invest in the girls and not end our immoral thirst in them.

We need to pay more attention to our young people, we need to listen to their voices and understand their needs. We need to educate our girls, involve them in real life issues. We cannot discuss the future development goals without bringing the voices of young people into discussions.
